Running on Empty? Start Here.

A simple reset for when pushing harder isn't helping.

When you're feeling burned out, the instinct is often to push harder, get more organized, or tell yourself you should be handling things better.

Before you do that, try something different.

Get curious instead of pushing.

You do not need to fix anything right now. Just take a moment and notice what is going on.

1.

Name what feels like a lot right now.

Don't solve it yet. Just name it.

Maybe it's work. A decision. A relationship. Your schedule. Other people needing things from you. Or simply the feeling that you're carrying too much at once.

2.

Notice what you're telling yourself you "should" be doing.

Maybe it sounds like:

I should be handling this better.

I should get more done.

I should make a decision.

I should stop feeling this way.

What happens inside you when you keep pushing that message?

3.

Get curious about the part of you that keeps pushing.

What is the concern if you stop pushing?

Maybe slowing down feels irresponsible.

Maybe saying no feels uncomfortable.

Maybe asking for help feels hard.

Maybe making a change feels risky.

Maybe you feel like everything depends on you keeping it all together.

You do not have to argue with that voice.

Just get curious about what it is trying to do for you.

4.

Ask one different question.

Instead of:

"How do I make myself do more?"

try:

"What do I actually need right now?"

Maybe it is rest.

Maybe it is clarity.

Maybe it is help.

Maybe it is a boundary.

Maybe it is finally making a decision you have been avoiding.

And maybe you do not know yet.

That is okay.

What did you notice?

Sometimes slowing down and listening changes something.

But sometimes it brings up more questions:

You know something needs to change, but you are not sure what.

Or you know what you want to change, but something keeps getting in the way.

Or one part of you wants to move forward while another part wants everything to stay exactly as it is.

That is the kind of work I help people with.

You do not need someone telling you what you should do.

Sometimes you need the space to understand what is pulling you in different directions so you can hear yourself more clearly and decide what feels right for you.
